MAUMERE, FLORESPOS.net-Rektor Institut Filsafat dan Teknologi Kreatif (IFTK) Ledalero, Dr. Otto Gusti Ndegong Madung meraih penghargaan sebagai The Best Paper dalam ajang Konferensi Hak Asasi manusia (HAM) Internasional yang bertajuk “Indigeneity and human Rights in Asia and The Pacific Towards a Just Society: Challengers and Opportunities” yang berlangsung di Fakultas Fisipol Universitas Gajah Mada (UGM) Yogyakarta pada tanggal 26 hingga 27 Oktober 2023.
Dalam ajang yang diikuti ratusan penulis dari belasan negara di dunia ini, Dr. Otto Gusti Madung menulis dan mempresentasikan paper berjudul “Human Rights and Viewss of Catholic Church under Habermas Discourse Theory: Discovering Common Ground in Differences.”
Paper dinilai oleh Tim yang dipimpin Profesor Michele Ford dari Sydney Soutteast Asia Centre The University of Sidney.
Ada pun ratusan peserta dalam ajang ini berasal dari Indonesia, Amerika Serikat, Australia, Filipina, Vietnam, Korea Selatan, Taiwan, Jerman, Denmark, Normegia, Timor Leste, dan beberapa negara di Amerika Latin dan Afrika.
Dr. Otto Gusti Ndegong Madung yang dihubungi Florespos.net, Rabu (1/11/2023) mengemukakan bahwa dalam paper karyanya itu dan yang dipresentasikan dalam Bahasa Inggris antara lain menggarisbawahi bahwa dalam konteks masyarakat majemuk, model yang mendasarkan HAM dalam perspekstif wacana yang melampaui agama sangatlah relevan.
Menurut Otto Gusti, meski agama tidak bisa dijadikan landasan etika sebagai pijakan pemahaman HAM, namun peran agama dalam pemajuan dan pembelaan HAM tetap relevan dan siginifikan.
Otto Gusti pada saat pemaparan menggarisbawahi bahwa setiap agama mempunyai intuisi kemanusian yang melampaui solidaritas komunitarian agama-agama itu sendiri.
Dari tinjauan sejarah hubungan HAM dengan pandangan gereja Katolik di Eropa, lanjut Otto Gusti, tampak bahwa konsep martabat manusia sebagai landasan etika HAM berkembang dalam tradisi hukum alam yang disinergikan dengan ajaran Yahudi-Kristen.
Untuk Kepentingan IFTK Ledalero
Dr. Otto Gusti Madung menambahkan bahwa penghargaan yang ia raih ini diharapkan bisa berkontribusi untuk kepentingan IFTK Ledalero, terutama untuk kepentingan akreditasi.
“Semoga dengan penghargaan ini berkontribusi bagi kepentingan lembaga IFTK Ledalero, terutama untuk urusan akreditasi. Tapi, saya juga senang karea aspek filosofis sudah mulai mendapat perhatian dalam diskursus tentang HAM di Indonesia,” kata Dr. Otto Gusti Madung.
